LITTLE MOON AND GRANDMOTHER
A series of short stories about a girl called little moon, her journey towards womanhood and the teachings of her grandmother.
Heron helps little Moon see the power in the ebb and flow, the cyclic nature of a girls journey to womanhood……This story can be used with the Girlbloom ceremony on the ceremonies page.
Here is an extract;
Little Moon drifts out slowly and rivers song carries her gently. She is alone, journeying along the waters, being carried by the silver thread, making the long journey to the ocean, a journey of wildness, beauty and the unknown. She knew she had to listen deeply to her river, to follow the course of her river. Pushing and pulling, rising and falling. Sometimes the little boat would circle around in an eddy, sometimes it would ground itself for a moment on the river bed, but always it would find a way to carry her and her little boat onwards towards her destiny.

Grandmother teaches Little moon to gather wild medicine
This story brings the teachings of intuition, herbalism and a introduction to plant spirit medicine, earth stewardship and nature connection. This download also contains games of wandering for the girl/s to try, to improve their skill of intuition.
Here is an extract;
Then quietly she handed little moon a gift. It was a pouch, little moon took it . she knew it was medicine pouch, made with love for her from the softest leather she had ever seen.
She looked at her grandmother.
This is a pouch for collecting medicine she said. All the women of the tribe carry them. They use them for collecting many plants for healing themselves and others. Knowing which plant to gather for which medicine is an important skill for a young girl to learn. Knowing all the plants, flowers and herbs and the trees that grow around our land is great knowledge. You will always be able to look after yourself and others if you get sick or need nourishment from our wild food.
Today we will begin to gather the plants and this knowledge.
We will start with a medicine walk
In the cold morning air , his breath rose.
He heard a call ‘ yip, yip’.
The forest was dark, the bracken high.A song in his heart of the wild dance.
The call of the wild ‘ yip, yip’.
The fox tribe was gathering, in the glade of trees, bringing their tales of the nights hunt.They saw brother fox and welcomed him back to his tribe.
He had been on a long journey and was changed.
A journey of discovery , the journey of his heart.The journey of becoming fox , returning back to the land.He now knew his place in the dance of living energy and his heart felt strong and good.
And the fox tribe sang their ancient songs to him and welcomed him home.
This story starts off with the Aboriginal story of “The Rainbow Serpent”… it is lead in to a story i have written about dreaming. which in turn leads into a council about the dreams of the girls and there uniqueness and gifts. Very empowering.
Here is an extract;
A bundle made of fine thread, thread so fine and of so much beauty it was fragile. These were the threads of stories and tales, knowledge and wisdom gathered from the wild land, the wild places still left on the earth. Gathered from the wild people, the wild people still left on the earth.
The threads were exquisite and their beauty sang to the hearts of everyone who touched them. The gypsy dreamers were gathering threads from all over the land, to weave into a beautiful knew tapestry on which the new ways, new traditions, new paths could be woven into beautiful patterns.

RE-WILDING STORIES FOR THE UNTAMED HEART – Stories for women
THIS SPIRALLING LIFE ( together with the Map of Womanhood)
This story works together with the medicine wheel journey and the map of womanhood….Here is an extract;
Two women sit together, a spiral drawn into the sand between them. Offerings are laid out…. many coloured candles, oils, herbs….
The moon is full, the night warm. Under the bright moonlight, high mountains loom as they sit beside the still lake. The quiet moon is reflected off the glassy surface. The land feels poised, waiting for something. This is the land of sleeping dragons. The old ones call this place ‘the navel of the world’. It is wild… sacred.
Two women, girl-woman and mid-woman, breathe deeply as they share the power of this moment of connection.
Included in this download is the teaching of the Map of womanhood. It included’s the understanding of the medicine wheel in relation to the map, a ceremony and a drum journey that can be used with women, but is also designed for girls.
AND THE WOMEN OF THE RED TENT GATHERED…
The download has a vision ceremony included with the story to inspire women to gather around the girls…. Good to use with your circle ( if you have one) right at the beginning of your journey together.
Here is an extract:
And the women of the red tent of the land of the blue stones gathered.
But this time they brought there daughters….
They heard the sound of the great drum calling, the rhythm of the Earthmother, pulsing, rising up deep into their bellies and into their hearts.
They wrapped themselves in their blankets and they came, from all corners of their land, bringing their wisdom for the girl-women.
Wrapped in their blankets of beauty, they carried their truth, their connection to the land and each other.
They carried the knowledge of womanhood. The women’s beauty way. They put the Earthmother at the centre of their circle, held council, they spoke truth. They spoke the language of the trees and the plants and the animals. They talked of the messages in the stars and the wisdom held in the stone people. They spoke of the truth in their hearts, and the truth of their wild natures. And the girl -women listened.
